Meditation has been used by for thousands of years, with ties all around the world, to different cultures, countries and forms of spirituality. Our modern society and emphasis on technology has evolved at incredible pace, yet we as human beings have not changed very much. By using these ancient methods we are able to tap into connection with our truer self, our deeper nature and the ability to be one with all.

In our daily lives we use meditation for many reasons and there are many techniques to choose from. Whether you use TM, Vipassanā, a mindfulness practice or washing the dishes, the result is often similar; finding quiet, stillness and clarity. In these states we are able to access the present moment, which is where everything is and sadly where we often are not. Being present and aware allows us to make choices for ourselves, our community and our planet that reflect our true nature and a greater good.

Why I Meditate offers a glimpse into five individuals living Los Angeles, California in 2020 who use meditation to look within and navigate life with compassion. Our world is in turmoil and the reality of the unknown and our lack of control has been thrust into the fore. This campaign offers insight into how the practice of meditation can help each of us on our individual journey and the world as a whole.
