Salomon S/lab Ultra 3 Black Edition

Salomon make some of the best trail shoes in the world, there’s no way around it. Not only are they designed to withstand the rigors of the mountains and the city, but their design is beautiful. Recently the brand has release 3 pairs of the S/Lab top of the market shoes in an all black, minimal design range. The Ultra 3 is one of the shoes, and likely the most diverse, wearable and best looking of the three. While the Phantasm looks great, it hasn’t seemed to actually come out and traditionally Salomon’s speciality isn’t road running, so I’d suspect the Ultra 3 Black Edition to be the one of the pack | Link

Over the past year, while the world continues to be faced with a multitude of challenges, an increasingly concerning one is the rise in racism and violence towards Asian people and communities. It’s been about 5 months since I dove into learning, studying, listening and practicing myself, and I am still just barely scratching the surface of this epic multi-sport event. They speak with author and athlete, Matt Fitzgerald and coach Morgon Latimore, who both offer a ton of great insight, lessons and tips for those of us starting out | Link

Tool Review: Garmin Forerunner 645 Music

The latest episode of my Road to 70.3 series is a Tool Review of the Garmin multi-sport watch I’ve been using to track my runs, rides and swims. Having a watch like this is essential to a proper training plan, especially if you’re using heart rate to define your zones and train within them. Watch the video on IGTV to get my insights into this watch specifically as an option for your training | Link

Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life

Jordan Peterson released his latest book last month, Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life. I hadn’t listened or paid a ton of attention to Jordan since his prior book, which I loved. He’s gone through a lot between the publishings in life and health and had to overcome severe personal hardships, brushing with death and recovery in a scary way. It makes his latest offering even more impressive, which I’ve nearly finished as of now. I am again extremely impressed with his insights, his knowledge of mythology and relating both biblical tales to modern stories like Harry Potter, with our own lives and how we can move forward, even if it is a hard journey ahead | Link
