Atomic Habits by James Clear

After returning my latest Audible download within the first hour of it, I finally decided to dive into Atomic Habits. I kept hearing about this book from every angle, probably 6-8 times in the last month and it was the perfect time to finally hear the call. The book is simple and fairly short, but brilliant and practical. James Clear offers incisive insight into how to create new habits that will last, how to weed out the bad ones and provides a lot of tips and helpful worksheets to aid in the process. It’s already changed my perspective and now it’s time to put this work into practice and create a new conscious identity of the person I want to be | Link

LEARN & MOVE

Endure IQ

After following a series of breadcrumbs from Dr. Phil Maffetone, I discovered Dr. Dan Plews. He’s an accomplished Ironman and age-group record holder with an 8:24 time. He’s taken the MAF Method to another level with his Endure IQ programs, which offer three options. The first is LDT 101, a guide and, “practical application of low carbohydrate performance for long distance triathlon.” Learning how to to transition, adapt and maintain a diet which optimizes your fat burning and endurance capacity definitely sound appealing to me and I plan to sign up for this course soon, which I’ll likely follow up with LDT 102, a training program fundamentals for long distance triathlon | Link

Total Immersion with Tim Ferriss

For most of us swimming lessons end before age 10, and then we’re left to sink or swim, usually slowly and inefficiently. For those of us looking to re-learn how to swim as adults for exercise, to explore the ocean or as part of a triathlon, the Total Immersion method seems to be the way to go. Since I knew I needed to get some tips for swimming, obviously I went to YouTube first. Fortunately I did find this video that I found really simple and helpful and have already begun to implement some of these methods into my swimming | Link

LISTEN

Kyle Kingsbury & Paul Chek on Subtle Energies

When Kyle and Paul get together, it usually results in a great conversation and podcast. While this episode was cut short by some recording difficulties, it was an hour of very interesting perspective on subtle energies, the world around us and how we can influence our own reality. They reference Paul’s recent episode with Ibrahim Karim a fair bit which I’m definitely going to listen to now. These type of conversations can really help shift perspective on our world and our individual experience, challenging the boundaries of our known reality, which is important in our evolution | Link
